Southside provided preconstruction and general construction services for the new Blythe Company World Headquarters. This 23,910 SF two-story structural steel framed office warehouse facility features architectural composite metal panels and concrete precast wall panels. The two story office area includes high end finishes that includes but not limited to ceramic floor and wall tile, carpeting, interior storefront and exterior curtain wall, wall coverings, etc. Office area includes multiple offices and conference/meeting room along with break rooms. Project also features a machine room less elevator in the two story office area. Exterior windows features a sun shade system to increase energy efficiencies. A large concrete paved area is located at the rear of the property that lead up to three overhead doors for deliveries. The warehouse portion of the building includes multiple storage rooms, a testing room, a receiving/intake room, and equipment room. The HVAC system utilizes package DX cooling system.

NE Maintenance Facility

Southside worked with the City of Charlotte to construct the NE Maintenance Facility.  The facility is 23,400 SF containing 14,309 SF of Vehicle Repair Bays, 3,425 SF of Office Space, a 2,456 SF Parts Storage Room, and a 581 SF Lube and Compressor Room.  This project was constructed with 45 geothermal wells, 5,700 SF of Solar Panels, and a heated slab under the Vehicle Repair Bays and is on track to receive LEED Silver.

NE Maintenance Facility

INX and Perigon Engineering selected Southside as general contractor for the 23,000 SF manufacturing expansion at the Witherscove Charlotte, NC facility. This fast track project will consist of load bearing pre-cast concrete wall system supporting structural steel roof framing. The structural slab-on-grade requirements included FF 40 FL 40 to support racking and process equipment. HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems will be installed to support manufacturing operations.

Chesterfield Shell Building

Southside was selected to construct a new 50,000 SF steel framed building for Chesterfield County. Although having submitted the lowest bid, Southside Constructors, Inc. worked with the Owner and Architect to lower the cost of the project to within the budget requested by the County. Designed by Carlisle Associates, the 30 foot clear height structural steel building includes precast wall panels and all exterior finishes. The remaining scope of work encompassed building erection, landscaping, and site work. Upon completion, this project will be LEED pre-certified for Core and Shell.
