Southside was selected as the design build contractor to complete a three phase renovation project of the existing Myrtle Beach International Airport terminal. Due to aggressive schedule of design and construction in only six months Southside and Pike McFarland Hall Associates, Inc. Architects took a fast track approach of integrating design as construction proceeded. Interior renovations included an overall area of 22,000 SF with new plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, electrical fixtures, security and access control, restroom facilities, family bathrooms, boarding gates, and skylight renovations. Interior architectural finishes included ceramic tile and carpet concourse flooring, stainless steel column wraps, metal and wood accent ceiling clouds, boarding gate casework, phone charging stations, signage, composite fiber wave wall panels, and stainless accent trim. Design work for phase two site work and phase three façade renovations was completed during construction of phase one to allow a seamless transition in work.
