Leafspring McAlpine

Southside Constructors partnered with Ham Holdings McAlpine, LLC to construct their third early childhood development center. The new facility is a two-story building that will represent both the preschool and after school programs.

The building is a two story 18,865 SF wood framed with masonry façade that will house the preschool and after school programs on the first floor and office space on the second floor. Exterior finishes include masonry veneer, asphalt shingle roof, fiber cement siding, and aluminum storefront. The first floor encompasses childcare facilities ranging from infants to children up to 5 years. Interior features include a full-size commercial grade kitchen, high impact resilient flooring, solid surface tops, wireless access points and video-audio systems. Interior scope of work includes ceramic tile flooring, painting, high impact drywall, millwork, wood doors, door hardware, carpet tile, acoustical ceilings, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Leafspring Cornelius

Southside partnered with a new client for Leafspring Preschools.  This project consisted of two buildings, a 12,420 SF Preschool and a 9,225 SF Village.  The Preschool building consist of classrooms for infants to 4 1/2 year old children, a kitchen area, a nurses area, and office space.  The Village building will provide classrooms, a library, an apothecary, and art galley, a toy shop, a cafe, and a gym for kids ages 5 to 12.  There is also 54,800 SF of playground space for both buildings for the kids to enjoy.

Leafspring Stallings

Shouthside built this childcare facility located in Matthews , NC. The project includes a 12,870 SF Preschool building for children ages Infant – 4-1/2  and a 21,643 SF after school building for ages 5 – 12. Project consisted of full height masonry walls, Truss roof system, Pre-engineered steel , brick veneer, resilient flooring and other high end finishes. The 9 acre site included a 1 acre wet pond, storm drainage, asphalt parking, concrete curb and gutter, 22,000 SF of pour in play rubber playground surface, play structures and accessories. Project also includes Solar Panel system and tank-less hot water systems to reduce energy costs.

Creative Kids

Southside completed the Creative Kids Child Development facility in Lake Wylie, SC.  The 12,000 SF design includes exposed heavy timber construction along with a standing seam metal roof with structurally insulated panels.  Exterior canopies include exposed tongue and groove decking with a stone veneer wainscot.  Interior finishes include luxury vinyl tile, ceramic tile, athletic floor, and solid surface countertops.  A play area with multiple fenced off playgrounds, and covered canopies wrapping around the building.

Leafspring Charter Colony

Southside completed this 13,119 SF Preschool, Nursery School, The Get Well Place and a 9,154 SF building for after school programs called The Village. The two buildings include six classrooms, two infant rooms, one toddler room, dining area, kitchen, commons area, reception, offices, staff room, commons area, reception, offices, staff room, library, arcade, art gallery, locker room, theater and much more.
