Southside was the low bidder selected to complete the renovations to a 16,800 square foot, two-story building in York, South Carolina formerly occupied by the York County DSS.

Designed by Liollio Architecture, Inc. of Charleston, SC the work included interior and exterior demolition. Exterior work consisted of asphalt patching, landscaping, site concrete, and masonry. Interior scope encompassed miscellaneous steel, reinforcing of existing steel, millwork, drywall, flooring, aluminum frames entrances, and metal stud framing. Interior and exterior finishes matched existing finishes.

The York County Children’s Museum is part of a growing trend of children’s museums that focus on early learning by providing exhibits with toys so that children can learn through play. Exhibits include a tree house, baby pumpkin, little houses, a sailing ship, and a dress-up vault.
