The Alamance-Burlington School System chose Southside to build a new 40,000 SF facility consisting of thirteen classrooms, five labs, five conference rooms, and a culinary kitchen. Designed by SfL+a Architects, this project is complete with masonry veneer exterior walls, architectural CMU interior walls, and a single-ply membrane roof. The building’s complex, intricate interior design includes acoustical ceilings, sealed/polished concrete floors, and aluminum windows with insulated glass.
Working together with the school system, Southside Constructors, Inc. remained environmental-friendly during construction through water efficient landscaping and by utilizing low VOC materials. This project was designed and constructed to LEED standards.
