Southside was selected by Johnny Dangerfield to build his flagship automotive retail facility in Conway, South Carolina. This 22,000 square foot two-story building, designed by Shook Associate Architects, is constructed around a conventional steel structure with a synthetic stucco exterior wall system. The front elevation features tinted curtain wall glass system accented by the trademark Suzuki square and Lifestyle Frames. The Suzuki Square is wrapped with red architectural composite metal panels. Project interior finishes include ceramic hard tile in the showroom and epoxy floor systems in the Service area. The Service area is fully conditioned and is equipped with a carbon monoxide filtration system. Southside Constructors worked with the owner’s vendors to coordinate installation of phone/data, furniture and service equipment.
The flagship facility includes a fully operational business development center (BDC), offices for Finance and Insurance (F&I), a nine bay service department, service write up and second floor parts storage. A separate three bay facility was constructed at the rear of the project for prep and delivery (PDI).
Site work included grading, erosion control, site utilities, curb, gutter and asphalt paving. Heavy landscaping and site lighting further accented the building.
