Unifirst Corporation selects General Contractor for renovations and additions

In September 2008 Southside Constructors, Inc. began the additions and renovations to the UniFirst building located in Charlotte, NC. Designed by Wash Hatem Nelson Architects, this 27,000 SF two-story facility includes a vaulted lobby, break rooms, managers offices, conference room, open office area, route room, finishing and maintenance areas, storage areas, restrooms, and additional space for plant expansion. The focal point of the new office building is a 23 foot high curtain wall glass system constructed on a radius that welcomes visitors into the lobby.

The addition to the building is comprised of a structural steel frame with precast panels and metal siding. Additional scopes of work for the project included all grading and site work; selective demolition; interior finishes; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems; and all structural elements.
