Tindol Family again calls on general contractor to build first-rate facility from start to finish

The Tindol Family Limited Partnership has once again called on the qualified staff of Southside Constructors, Inc. to build the latest addition to their automotive conglomerate, Tindol MotorSports. Unlike the Tindol Dealership and Body Shop, Tindol MotorSports does not serve as a retail facility. Instead, Tindol MotorSports generates modified Mazda Miatas and Ford Mustangs for racing. The Tindol MotorSports facility is located in Riverview Point, a new development park in Belmont, North Carolina, where it serves as an anchor. Extensive site work was completed to pave the way for the race shop including clearing and grading several acres, the placement of new curb and gutter, and creating parking lots for both employees and future race team sponsors. The ingenuity of both the development park and the specialized race shop is reflected in the overall design of the structure. To assist with design-build services, Southside enlisted the architectural firm of Wash-Hatem-Nelson headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Together, the design team of Wash-Hatem-Nelson and Southside Constructors, Inc. created a 20,000 SF race shop including:
- Concrete tilt-wall panels poured in place and stood up to form the frame for the facility
- A 6’ x 7’ storefront consisting of blue glass windows
- A second floor mezzanine designed to float above and yet is sturdy enough to hold a finished race car for all to see
- A seamless, colorless Epoquartz Broadcast Flooring System with a urethane topcoat for easy cleaning and durability in the shop areas
- Other flooring types such as rubber flooring, VCT tile and rubber base, and carpet
