General Contractor builds Mountain Island Village



Southside Constructors, Inc. was selected to build the new urban community of Mt. Island Village, a modern townhouse complex. Located in Mt. Holly, North Carolina, the 95 unit complex consists of a total of 6 six-unit, 11 five-unit buildings, and 1 four-unit building. The units are constructed in 13 different floor plans:

• “The Beaufort” (1,381 SF), “The Port Royal” (1,312 SF): 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 8 ft ceilings on main level, walk-in closet in each bedroom

• “Monhegan” & “The Hatteras” (1,537 SF),  “Nantucket” (1,469 SF): 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 9 ft ceilings on main level, walk-in closet in master suite

• “Ocracoke” & “The Kiawah” (1,482 SF): 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 9 ft ceilings on 1st and 2nd floors, 2 closets in master suite

• “Edisto” & “The Hilton Head” (1,250 SF): 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 9 ft ceilings on main level, 2 walk-in closets in master suite

• “The Palmetto” (1,118 SF): 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 8 ft ceilings on main level, walk-in closet in master suite

• “The Seabrook ” (1,118 SF): 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, 8 ft ceilings on main level, walk-in closet in each bedroom

• “The Sanibel” (1,357 SF): 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 9 ft ceilings on 1st and 2nd floors, 2 walk-in closets in master suite, walk-in closet in 2nd bedroom

A playground, community gathering area including a gazebo, pet park, pool with concrete decking and an aluminum picket fence, and a pool house are also part of the amenities.

Each building is slab on grade construction with wood framing and an exterior veneer of vinyl shake siding and architectural roofing shingles. Installation of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems are also part of the project, as well as paved sidewalks and driveways to each building.

Kitchen appliances for the units include a range hood, range, and dishwasher. Accents consist of carpet and vinyl flooring throughout, garden tubs and showers and cultured marble countertops.
