Southside Constructors, Inc. builds a brand new community
In September of 2001, Southside Constructors, Inc. began construction on Lineberger Place, the company’s first builder exclusive housing community located off S. New Hope Road in Gastonia, North Carolina. The 15 acre community includes a total of 78 lots ranging from one-fourth an acre to over an acre. The new houses were constructed over a period of time in three different phases. Each phase pre-sold ahead of schedule. Some attribute the neighborhood’s success to the appeal of the house plans built in Lineberger Place. Southside Constructors, Inc. offered prospective new buyers a variety of involvement opportunities throughout every phase of construction. For instance, buyers may choose carpet and tile selections, light fixtures, and kitchen cabinets in addition to deciding on the actual house plan and exterior color. Structural alternatives such as a fireplace, a two-car garage, and/or cathedral ceilings were also available. All houses were stick-built with concrete slab foundations. However, buyers had the option of having their house built on a brick masonry crawl space. Other standard features included a concrete slab patio, light landscaping, ceiling fan, two cable-ready outlets, two telephone jacks, and a one-year warranty on all work.
