Iredell County selects General Contractor to construct their new office building

Southside Constructors, Inc. and MBAJ Architects were selected by Iredell County to construct a new 56,000 SF two-story office building to house their Department of Social Services support functions. 

The construction consists of a steel frame structure with brick and glass exterior.  The floor plan consists of 184 offices, conference rooms, a security office, a break room with kitchen, specialty family meeting rooms and file storage. The second floor includes a Board Room & Computer Training facilities. The exterior provides 308 paved parking spaces. The facility will be constructed in two phases to reduce the schedule by three months. 

The building is located on an 8 acre parcel which is part of a 23 acre tract owned by the county. DSS is the first facility to be constructed on this sight.

DSS provides financial assistance, protective services, and an array of services to help individuals and families maintain/enhance health, safety and well-being.
