Donald Craig Suzuki in Charlotte selects General Contractor to build new showroom

Extremely satisfied with work completed on their new Suzuki dealership located in Mooresville, Donald Craig Suzuki selected Southside Constructors, Inc. and Winstead Wilkinson Architects to be their design-build partners once again, this time on their new showroom facility located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Since the existing ‘Planet Suzuki’ facility had to remain open during construction of the new facility, maintaining service, sales and retail parts operations was a priority. Constant communication and teamwork between the Owner and Southside Constructors, Inc. allowed for the least disturbance to the dealership’s work activities. Upon completion of the new building, the existing one will be completely demolished making room for a new parking area.
Donald Craig Suzuki’s new 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility offers a spacious new showroom that creates a positive customer experience and is more functional for their employees as well. The facility includes administrative, finance, service drop off and write-up offices, sales areas, a parts desk and storage for public and technician use, as well as a service building with ten bays and wash bays for auto detailing, new sales, and after service clean up. This two-story dealership has a textured exterior and includes all hi-end finishes, an elevator, and new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Site work included grading, site utilities, landscaping, asphalt paving, curb/gutter, retaining walls, new sidewalks, and increasing the size of the existing detention pond.
Interior details of this project include:
- A two-story showroom space with ceramic tile flooring
Vinyl wall covering through out the building
Epoxy, chemical resistant service bay floor
Office space for immediate and future needs
Owner upgrades to cabinetry, ceiling, and floors
Elevator accessible to the 2nd floor customer lobby
Custom storefront glass for vehicle display and open showroom
Owner provided lighting, signage, kiosks, display boards and counters complete the interior
