General Contractor selected to build Blakeney Racquet Club In Charlotte

Southside Constructors, Inc. teamed with architect John Hallenbeck to construct this new 2-story 10,500 square foot clubhouse located in booming south Charlotte. Blakeney Racquet Club is owned and operated by Berhe Tennis Inc and has been in business since 1999 serving Charlotte and its surrounding cities.
This masonry structure has a distinctive presence with a stone veneer and multi-finish stucco exterior and is complimented by architectural asphalt shingles, a pergola, three dormers, and a front entry drive-thru porte cochere.
Located on the first floor of this new recreational facility are two regulation-size racquetball courts, lounge with fireplace, kids play area with a hand-painted wall mural depicting under the seascapes and animals, pro-shop, locker rooms with restroom facilities, showers and lockers, a sauna, and a medical office area including a future Chiropractic office to include a massage therapy center, reception and waiting areas, exam rooms, and offices. Provisions have also been made for a future x-ray room.
The second floor features a state-of-the-art fitness center with free weights, cardio and nautilus equipment. The fitness center also has two large view windows to the racquetball courts below. Other areas include an employee office, employee break room complete with staff lockers and internet access, and a large multi-purpose room designed to accommodate rental for parties, receptions, or business meetings. The multipurpose room contains a bar area and food serving areas and has direct access to an outdoor balcony overlooking eight tennis courts and professional landscaping.
In 2008, Southside Constructors, Inc. completed a second project on the sports complex, a new 930 SF pool house consisting of a wood frame structure with structural steel framing and fiberglass shingles to match existing building. Complete electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems. The Pool House includes an equipment room, office room, chemical storage area and restrooms. Special health department regulations were required.
